The beloved Wanamaker Building has anchored Philadelphia’s Market East neighborhood for more than 150 years. As part of the building’s adaptive reuse, PAU’s design for its public spaces preserves the historic Beaux-Arts facade and Grand Court – home to the famed organ, bronze eagle statue, and annual Christmas light show – while reimagining the entrances, arcades, and central atrium to be more open, inviting, and connected to the city. Construction on the project is expected to begin next year.
